Our Client is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experience candidates to fill the vacant position of Quantitative Analyst. Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mathematical or statistical models to solve investment problems and advise the Department on how specific data sets will affect investment outcomes.

Education LevelMasters Degree
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree – Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics and Finance. MSc in a quantitative subject (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics or Business-related postgraduate degree)
SoftwareStrong background in computer programming, with good programming ability, particularly in R, SQL, Python
Knowledge OfQuantitative portfolio management or research experience. Passion for financial markets and interest in quantitative/ systematic investment strategies
Skills ToExcellent quantitative and numerical skills. Hands-on with keen attention to detail
Ability ToOpen to challenge and debate and able to work well in a small cohesive team, but also take initiative and work autonomously when required. Resourceful, flexible and able to adapt and respond in a rapidly changing environment.
Other RequirementsProfessional Qualifications such as CFA, FRM, CAIA are added advantage.
Requirements
  • Modelling:
  • Design statistical tools and software. Creating and putting into action intricate quantitative models
  • Develop statistical models to value stocks, bonds, and other investments and to analyse the performance of different investments and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement models to make modelling decisions - research, examine market trends and data, and conclude based on this information
  • Carrying out periodic statistical analysis, such as analytics, and other similar tasks
  • Consider the model's parameters and use various techniques to gather data.
  • Testing of models and analytical software
  • Testing of models and analytical software Identify profitable investing models and develop valuation strategies.
  • Portfolio Management:
  • Help asset managers to identify and manage investment risks
  • Assist portfolio managers to optimize their portfolios by identifying the best combination of investments that will maximize returns.
  • Identify opportunities for profitable investments in stocks, bonds, and other investments.
  • Identify areas for improving performance of different investments
  • Develop trading strategies
  • Programming:
  • Contribute to the development of proprietary portfolio and risk management software and platforms
  • Perform Coding- including predictive modelling or machine learning
  • Testing of models, and analytical software
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports containing results of quantitative model results
  • Perform Coding- including predictive modelling or machine learning
  • Testing of models, and analytical software
  • Collaboration:
  • Consult with experts to examine market dynamics, trading system efficiency, and other relevant topics.
  • Collaborate with IT team to ensure tools, systems and data sets are consistent with best practices
  • Collaboration with financial analysts in the research department in formulating investment research.
