Company description
The school of Kantenda is located 12 I'm east of Kasempa CBD on the Mumbwa road. It was opened as a lower primary school in 1966 under post independent Zambia's education expansion programme. It's first headteacher was a Mr Makashinyi. In 1972, the school was upgraded to upper primary school status, a move which saw it's first grade 7 graduants in 1974 under the headship of Mr Musheke Kakuwa

A centre of excellence in its own right
In this rural setting, schools and other public amenities were rare and extremely far apart. Before it's establishment, learners could only enrol at Mukinge, Kivuku or Kelongwa being the nearest schools. The opening of Kantenda school therefore came as a big relief to the communities of Mpungu, Kabukafu, Kabayowa, Kantenda, Kanjibiji and Nkenyauna.
