Oversee the management and co-ordinate day to day operations of the farm. Manage staff, daily operations, crops & livestock, financial documents and recommend improvements to ensure maximum profit.

Ability ToPlanting, growing, harvesting and storage of feed forage crops
Requirements
  • Management of the dairy herd, supervising employees in all phases of the dairy and the upkeep of facilities
  • Managing the breeding and rearing livestock, feed making, feeding and milking of cows , storage of feed, milk and sterilizing and maintaining facilities and equipment
  • Achieving set yield targets as well as expected quality standard.
  • Overseeing milking operations
  • Monitoring Operations:
  • Analysing existing farm operations, including crops, livestock, milk production and financial documents
  • Recommending improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Planning and Scheduling:
  • Creating plans and schedules for effective milk production, planting, harvesting, and other farm activities
  • Ensuring that staff understands expectations and follows protocols
  • Field Inspections:
  • Visiting different divisions of the farm to inspect crops, livestock, and perform soil and water tests
  • Regularly restocking seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacements for farm equipment and machinery
  • Product Marketing and Sales - Handling the marketing and sale of farm products, such as dairy, meat and grain.
  • Safety and Staff Management - Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations
  • Assisting with recruitment and training of new staff members.
  • Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports
