    Training Superintendent
    Training Superintendent: A Copper Mining project. Responsible for the training of ±2500 HE Operators and 300 staff members (HE operating, induction, safety training, supervisory training and various aspects of HR applications). Managing a team of 45 Training staff. Installing and managing systems and processes within a training department, designing, developing and maintaining all learning media and training the staff to an internationally bench-marked standard of competence. All conducted according to an administrative and tactical structure based on the ISO9000 quality management standards.
    Achievements: 1st ; Accrediting the department as a “learning institution”.
    2nd ; Nationally Qualifying Mining operators (TEVETA).

    First employed as underground nightshift cleeaner, then shiftboss, then Mine Overseer. After qualifying myself as a "Training Practitioner" I progressed from training officer, senior training officer to participated as a teamleader/Snr. Consultant in a larger team to create the “Lonmin Business Academy”; a centralized business academy with over 300 departmental employees.
    As the custodian of all internal and external legislation and quality management systems maintenance/enhancement, I was instrumental in standardizing performance indicators for all training specialists. Quality assured and ratified the design and development of all learning programs. Collaborated with all staff facilitated cohesive work teams. Conducted needs analyses and cost-benefit analyses (ROI). Achieved the following:

    • Developed First Aid Programme curriculum, achieving LP approval at National level.
    • Lead teams to successful re-certification (ISO 9001:2008) and re-accreditation.
    • Trained 60% of total training specialists at Lonmin Academy.
    • Coordinated the annual planning/implementation of organization-wide training programs.
    • Represented the industry on national legislative bodies, writing vocational standards.
    • Promoted consistently from Senior Technical Trainer to Consultant, and then Senior Consultant (Quality Manager), based on exceptional performance.
    Achievements: 1st; Training the first non-white “Blasting Certificate Holders” in SA.
    2nd; Setting up the academy with ISO9000 accreditation and managing the system for ±6
    years.
