    With the increasing costs attached to the pursuit of higher education, working part-time while studying was a necessity. Consultancy and reporting roles were done along-side my graduate studies and research work. The key duties included:

    REPORTER DUTIES
    • Analyzing and collecting information through various modes such as personal interviews and news briefings to prepare news reports.
    • Monitoring daily events locally, nationally and internationally to gather and report current events.
    • Perform research and prepare reports to keep the public informed.
    • Coordinate with news editors and fellow reporters to develop story ideas for report writing
    • Collaborate with news editors to improve news story presentation.
    • Take photographs and coordinating with graphics department to obtain visual elements for each story.
    • Maintain knowledge of latest events and news from alumni’s status quo to obtain stories worth reporting.

    WRITING CONSULTANT DUTIES
    • Assisting the university in its mission to create an environment that encourages and supports student learning and development.
    • Assist students and faculty writers at any stage of the writing process, on topics from any discipline, through face-to-face and distant sessions.
    • Providing helpful feedback and insights regarding writing in general and/or in response to an individual writer’s particular task or draft.

    Joined ZEMA in 2014 right after the completion of my studies as I was awaiting my graduation. I initially was an intern and later worked in the position of Environmental Planning Officer before I left the institution to pursue my graduate studies. Collective Duties included among them: -
