Our client, a regional player in the edible oils and associated products (Soya meal, Soaps) servicing entire Zambia and neighboring country markets, seeks an Inventory and Cost Accountant. The Inventory Accountant will determine the specific value of assets at certain stages in their development and production.

QualificationsACCA II / CIMA II / ZICA or CA Level 2 / Accounting Degree
Knowledge OfHas relevant working knowledge and experience with SAP, Inventory and Costing experience
Skills ToAnalytical skills, communication skills, negotiation skills
Ability ToFinancial statements, budget reports, executive summary, internal controls
Other Requirements4-5 Work relevant experience, manufacturing experience will be an added advantage
Requirements
  • Design and implement an inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures
  • Conducting monthly inventory counts
  • Performing spot check counts / cycle counts
  • Daily tracking of all production orders to ensure that all orders are closed in good time
  • Daily tracking of all production orders to ensure that all orders are closed in good time
  • Examine the levels of supplies and raw material to determine shortages
  • Document daily deliveries and shipments to update inventory
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels
  • Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems.
  • Understand the Production cost process and BOM
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports on plant performance as required by the Chief Financial Officer
  • FX Exposure Reporting - Responsible for the preparation, analysis and submission of the Weekly FX Exposure report sent to the group
  • Ensure all month end activities are performed before the costing run and month end close
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports on plant performance as required by the Chief Financial Officer
  • Analyze plant operating costs in detail
