Our Client, a media/advertising company seeks and Accountant for their Zambian office operations, to provide timely and accurate financial information for management to enable informed financial decisions

Experience5 Years
Education LevelDegree
QualificationsFinancial Diploma or Financial Degree
SoftwareMicrosoft Office with Intermediate Excel abilities. SAGE/ACCPAC experience advantageous
Knowledge OfBookkeeping knowledge, Accounting principles, Understanding of VAT & Tax, General understanding of the debtors, creditors and cash book functions
Skills ToAnalysis and problem solving, good communication skills
Ability ToPlanning, organizing and decision making; reporting abilities, prioritize and handle volume
Requirements
  • Cash Books:
  • Obtain bank statements regularly, monitor accounts and record cash books on a daily basis into Sage
  • Follow up timeously on unreconciled movement
  • Capture Accounts Payable and Expenses. Follow up on supplier invoices timeously if payment was made on a quotation.
  • VAT, Withholding Vat and Tax:
  • Prepare reconciliations, calculations and submissions
  • Follow up on Vat Receivable
  • Manage and Maintain WHT accounts
  • Follow up WHT Certificates, and reallocate WHT from AR on receipt of WHT certificates
  • Debtors:
  • Collections and reconciliations of Debtor book
  • Weekly follow up on debtor payments
  • Provide weekly commentary / status of each debtor
  • Based on commentary, if there are any discrepancies, to take timeous action to resolve
  • Creditors:
