The role of an Assistant Accountant is to efficiently and accurately help oversee the financial management of the business. Typically reporting to the Accountant and liaising with the Senior Management Team, he or she will assume a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

  • Maintaining records and receipts for all day-to-day transactions
  • Overseeing the preparation, organization, and planning of budgets. Contributing to financial audits internally.
  • Prepare annual budgets and regular forecasts to management, variance analysis and margin analysis
  • Preparing and producing invoices, income statements, expenses reports, and balance sheets. Monitoring of all bank payments including deposits.
  • Trade accounts Receivable management, credit control & processing credit applications from clients
  • Review all payments, including vat reconciliations and make sure that internal controls are working as planned.
  • Engagement with stakeholders including but not limited to commercial banks, government and regulators
  • Review all payments and set up or authorize online transactions being one of the firm’s authorized signatory.
  • Bank reconciliation, Accounts payable & Accounts receivables management (liaison with customers and suppliers).
  • Ensuring that the general and subsidiary ledgers are maintained.
  • Ensure all expenses and spending are within the confines of the assigned project budget.
  • Analyze finances, report to the Accountant, and perform other day to day tasks. Resolve and identify issues arising from invoicing, account discrepancies, and other financial-related maladies.
